Honestly, friend, me too! Me fricken, too!
I’ll be honest though… I set out with a goal to read 24 books in 2021. After a while I realized that was a lot of books, so I dropped the goal to 21. Mostly because 21 book in 2021 sounded cool. But here we are in December (already!) and I have only read 8 books.
What can I say? Life gets busy! But I want to recap the 8 that I have read so far and introduce you to #9 that I am working through and loving!
The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd
10/10 I really enjoyed this book. It was recommended to me by my therapist for grief relating. I can tell you that it was very good and relatable. Even though the setting is much before my time and the characters are nothing like me (minus them being beekeepers- that we do have in common), yet somehow in their grief and in mine I related to them. Everyone should give it a read!

Leading in Tough Times by John Maxwell
This was an excellent combination of several John Maxwell books. Sections were pulled from different books to really highlight “leading in tough times”. This book was inspiring to keep going in your business or projects even when it is hard to do. If you are a leadership reading kind of person- this book is a must!

Get Over Your Damn Self by Romi Neustadt
This book is great for anyone in network marketing! Romi included almost a step by step process on how to successfully build your business. As a very successful leader in her company, she poured her heart into this book to help you/me be successful too! She put a lot of personality into the entire thing!

A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson
This book was a very long read but very fun and intriguing. All of the information presented in it was informative but not in a text book type of way. Some of the data has been out dated as the book was published in 2002 and it is now 2021, but the majority of it still holds up! The ever evolving and understanding of science is one of the most fun things in the world! This book is a must read for anyone wanting to expand their worldly knowledge!

Good Leaders Ask Great Questions by John Maxwell
Like any other John Maxwell book, this one was a wonderful read. John Maxwell walks you through how to ask great questions, what to ask, and how they help you become a better leader. I truly feel that after reading this book, I am a better leader.

Girl With No Job by Claudia Oshry
This was a blast to read! Claudia is hilarious and had me wanting to read more and more. Its no wonder it is a New York Bestseller! Claudia walks us through her life from growing up to glowing up on Instagram. A lot of Claudia’s early Instagram days are days I can relate to, and I kind of aspire to be like her as I glow up too! A must read for the friendship that she provides or at a minimum the comedy!

Untamed by Glennon Doyle
This book was beyond empowering. Glennon is a strong woman and she shares that strength through this book! Between comedy, finding yourself, and heartbreak you feel like you are walking through along side her. If you like Rom Kipur, you will like Glennon’s work for sure! I think I read this book the fastest of them all!

15 Invaluable Laws of Growth by John Maxwell
This book is easily another top 10 book for me. All the laws of growth 1 through 15 kept me coming back for more to grow. John Maxwell has a way with words and his own form of leadership that encourages everyone to lead with him, not behind him, and not in front of him but with him. One of my favorite authors!

The 5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins
This is my current read! I am about 100 pages into and loving it. Mel has you emotional and empowered with her. She has you captivated as if you are sitting in her audience listening to a TED talk by her. The 5 second rule movement is taking the internet by storm and saving lives! She shares all about it in the first few pages. Highly recommend so far!

All of the books I have been reading, am reading, and am planning to read are linked on my Amazon StoreFront site here.
Reading is one of my favorite past times and I could do it all day every day.
Should my 2022 goal be 22 books? Next year I won’t be finishing my master’s degree and will have the full year to read!
