Woah! You guys, it has been a hot minute since I connected with you on Instagram and Facebook and an even longer time since connecting with you here.

This new year has been a blast so far and is taking off for an eventful year very quickly! (Was that enough adjectives to describe where I’m at with this year? lol).

Our New Year’s day was uneventful… we spent 70% of it watching Criminal Minds and completing jigsaw puzzles and the other 30% sleeping the day away. I couldn’t ever imagine spending another year with the love of my life. Valentine’s Day is coming up and has me feeling a little sappy… 🙂

Work has been uneventful lately. Par for the course with our current program. It is allowing for us to complete trainings, catch up on all the miscellaneous paperwork items, fill in any blanks that have been left, and allow for brainstorming for how to improve our already successful program. I am stoked to see what our future with the company holds. I love my career and what we do.

Our homestead has been fairly dormant for the season. There is not a lot to do with snow on the ground. We have been working diligently in approving our home on the inside! I am constantly planning the garden for this year. I have restrained myself from placing a seed order and focusing on the seeds I have leftover. The animals are all happy and good! We even added a hamster to our home last month. He has a sweet little story that I will share later on. His name is Snowbell and he is super cute and sweet. One of the best little office buddies around!

We were blessed to take a spontaneous road trip about a week ago. My husband volunteered to drive to Oregon for work to pick up a plane part. I had the great opprotunity to go with. Luckily I can work from anywhere and was able to work from the road. We left Wednesday afternoon and were back by Saturday afternoon! From where we are in Colorado to where we needed to be in Oregon it is about 1,000 miles. We drove about 2,000 miles through 5 states in about 80 hours. It was amazing and so much fun to do that with Nathan. I really lucked out on marrying my best friend. All of the pictures in this post is from the trip! I’m counting down the days until our next trip (it is planned!). Stay tuned for those details coming sometime soon.

When we ended that whirlwind of a roadtrip, Nathan had a show with his band (Sorry Sweetheart). The Saturday afternoon we got back we went to Denver for the show. Let me just tell ya, it was an incredible set that they played. They played with three other fantastic bands. If you are into the ska/punk rock scene I highly reccomend you check out Sorry Sweetheart (shameless band member’s wife plug). Even if you aren’t into the scene and your music taste is different, I highly reccomend them.

I’ve been loving our extra streams of income that our home has. As long as we keep playing our cards right and putting in the work we have a few life changes coming up- including a brand new vehicle! The flexibility to work on whatever I want whenever I want is liberating. This last week we peeked at finances some and decided to not move a new tenant in and moved my office downstairs! We now have more space for us. Our home truly has an office and a guest room. I no longer share a space with our guests. I am in love with my new office space. If things don’t end up working out like we hope, we will move someone in and I will go back upstairs. If anything, this is allowing for us to work on the guest room some and update it. It is one of three spaces not updated in our home! We have been working so hard on it all. I am extremely proud of us.
